For Teams Managing Client Feedback
Moderate website feedback with role-based control
Website comment moderation breaks down when everyone sees everything. Simple Commenter gives you three distinct roles, per-domain access gating, and status visibility rules so your team works with full context while clients see only what matters to them. You control who can comment, what they see, and how feedback moves through review.

Role-Based Access
Assign permissions that match each person's responsibility
Workspace Admins control billing, domains, and team membership. Team Leads manage feedback data, update statuses, and reply to comments, but cannot delete domains or invite new members. Clients can only leave feedback on domains they have been invited to. Each role sees exactly the controls they need, nothing more. This means a client never accidentally changes project settings, and a team lead never needs to worry about billing configuration.
Status Visibility
Show clients only the statuses that matter to them
Your internal team tracks feedback through every stage: open, in progress, blocked, in review, done. Clients see a simplified view with just three statuses: To Do, Review, and Done. This keeps your internal triage process private while still giving clients clear progress updates. When a designer marks something as 'in review,' the client sees it move forward without needing to understand your internal workflow steps.
Access Control
Gate feedback with invite, request, or open access
Each domain has its own access mode. Invite mode restricts commenting to people you have added by email. Request mode lets anyone ask for access, but an admin must approve them first. Open mode allows anyone with the link to comment immediately. Most teams use invite mode for active client projects and request mode for public-facing staging sites. This replaces the guesswork of 'who left this comment?' with verified, controlled participation.
Approval Workflow
Move comments from open to resolved with clear ownership
Every comment tracks its lifecycle through statuses, and threaded replies keep the full decision history attached to each item. When a status changes, Slack and webhook integrations can notify the right people automatically. Your dashboard shows open items across all projects, so you can spot unresolved feedback before it becomes a bottleneck. The result is a repeatable approval process where nothing gets lost between review rounds.

“One of my clients said he really loves Simple Commenter! Much easier to use than the other one I tried (MarkUp). Really loves the simplicity and cleanliness of it!”
“I found Simple Commenter from Reddit (b/c of the MarkUp price change). Its simple, easy to use, and has a good UI. Also emailed the developer with a few suggestions for improvement and he not only responded quickly but also implemented the suggestions shortly thereafter. Highly recommend!”
“Simple, intuitive, needs no browser extensions, client specific access link which means client does not need to signup, and no monthly expenses for small website developers. The clients get great UX and I am able to process their feedback with low friction and stress. I have checked a few others but Simple commenter is perfect for my usecase.”
